Weekend reflections

I can't believe it, I was stitching outside! In March! Gosh, I love Vancouver Island. I love view from my window even on a cloudy day

and I love walking down the street

Just to remind you where I came from, here are couple of pics from early April last year

Quite a difference eh?

Now, let's get back to stitching. Our dear Jo is hosting Hallowe'en Ornie SAL 2015 and, of course, I decided to join. I guess my startitis isn't gone completely yet. Yesterday I started (and finished!) Fall Owl, now I have to transform that piece into ornament.

I also have made a progress on my Santas

 and Alicia, the pirate

Earth hour

Earth hour is not about people, is about world without people.  It is an hour when we are told to sit in the cold and dark, and reject what freedom and ingenuity gave us – to reject civilization, to reject our very nature. It is an hour to live as they do in miserable North Korea. It is an hour to live without civilization. To live no different than animals.

I like warmth and light. I like my coffee maker, fridge and stove. I like my TV and stereo. I love my computer. I LIKE CIVILIZATION! Life before industrialization was nasty, brutish, short, diseased, hungry and cold.  It’s better now. We are healthier and we are living longer than ever before. Let's keep that way!

During the Earth hour I will celebrate human achievements and turn all the lights on!  Cheers to Thomas Edison!

Blogging A to Z Challenge - Theme Reveal

Another April and another challenge. Yeah, I'm doing this again... In the past we had travel to many beautiful and exotic places, we checked on Egyptian Gods and Goddessess. This year I will tell you all about my heroes, mentors and idols that I admire. Some of them are real persons and some are characters from books and movies. I think that by the end of the challenge you will know me pretty well...

Stitchy Sunday

Well, it's more than just stitchy Sunday. As always during the third week of the month I was hermitting and stitching and stitching... I finished first Santa of the Santa's 12 Days of Christmas and I made a lovely progress on Alicia, the strawberry pirate. Here are the pics:

 Santa's 12 Days of Christmas - day 1

Strawberry Pirate Alicia (see my right side bar for the pic) - it doesn't look like much is done but when you look on the pic below it shows you my progress: in blue - done in January, in Yellow - February and the pink is done in March.

Happy dance!

Thanks to Heather for daring me to finish Irish Blessing before St. Patrick's day. With her encouragement my Irish Blessing is all done - well, the stitchy part. Now I have to figure out what to do with it. I'm leaning towards wall hanging. What do you think? The piece measures 13" x 7".
This year again I'm taking part in A to Z challenge. On the 23 of March I will reveal my theme. I hope you will like it.

Hello March!

February was short like a blink of an eye. My first Canadian winter without snow - love it! Lately even the rain stopped. Fruit trees are full of blossoms - it's so much different from living on the north. Though my dear friend Heather just email to me lovely captured Aurora Borealis

She also dared me to finish Irish Blessing (one of my super duper starts) before St. Patrick Day. Since I'm taking all challenges very seriously I started working on it right away.

that's where I'd left in January
and that's today

Yesterday I was stitching with Linda. Both of us are working on Santa's 12 Days of Christmas. I've started all twelve days during the challenge, yesterday I was working on day one:
