a week before Easter

Palm Sunday is gone and Easter is just around the corner. I was bitten by cleaning bug on Saturday and spent almost all day dusting, moping, reorganizing and yesterday I couldn't resist Freddy's temptation to watch some TV... so I watched To Kill a Mockingbird and the Snow White (I'm to be-grandma in training) and of course the Heartland. All day wasted... well, not quite, I was able to do some stitching. Here is my progress on the Tiger:

It's Saturday! And it is Pink!

And the whole world is pink!

Hello My Dear Friends! Inspired by Miss Beverly from How Sweet The Sound I joined her in the pink fun. Go visit her and see who's posting this week!

My Pink world actually started when I joined forces of Mary Kay Consultants. Everybody knows, "O, Mary Kay, do you have your pink Cadillac yet?"

No, not yet... but I dream in pink..

To celebrate my first Pink Saturday with Miss Beverly I have a couple of giveaways (both of them will help you to say goodbye to dry skin damage by those winter months and say hello to new, glowing spring face:

Giveaway one:

a travel size microdermabersion set (to remove those dreadful, dry cells - instructions included)

And another one:

a travel size everyday basic set that includes cleanser, moisturizer, day and night solution.

So have a wonderful Pink Saturday and if you would like to be enter in the draw please post the link below:

Happy Tuesday!

The winter is back in the Yukon. The last couple nights temperatures dropped to -20°C (-6°F), today is snowing like crazy... but there is a promise of a Spring by the end of the week... we'll see.

Yesterday I had a nice surprise on the way to work:

A caribou! (the rest of the herd is not visible, it is closer to the bush)

Scene like that reminds me why I live here...

And since I'm so sick and tired of winter ready for spring I put away my Heart of the Valley for a while and started on a tiger, to celebrate Year of the Tiger.

I know that isn't much, just one ear, but look how gorgeous he will look when he is done:

Happy St. Patrick Day!

The legend of St. Patrick

St. Patrick was a man of God who came to Erin's land with a loving prayer within his heart, a shamrock in his hand.
He used the three-leafed shamrock to help all the people see how there could be three persons in the Holy Trinity.
And the faith the Irish learned from him today can still be found - a heritage as lovely as the country side around.

Happy Friday!

Yesterday I woke up so overwhelmed... 2 exams in the next couple days and a corporate tax course right after... and I wasn't ready. Quickly I made an executive decision - I'm writing only one exam, second one I'm deferring to June and changing sessions for tax course. The outcome is that I have a higher balance on my credit card but I'M FEELING GOOD. Last six weeks were not the easiest for me, what's the purpose for putting more pressure than I can handle? I chose to enjoy life a little more today. I will catch up on emails, update blogs, stitch and do some house work. And the best part - I do not have to go back to work til Monday!

Just before the exam yesterday I picked up a package from the post office. It was from Leslie, and o boy, she spoiled me rotten! Look what she sent to me:

a beautiful hand made card

and all kinds of floss  (satin, rayon, cotton, metallic - all beautiful!)

and some charts to stitch with that floss

and St. Patric's confetti and an awesome pin with pocket card (I will wear that pin on the 17th!)

and lovely window stickers! (couple of them are already on my fridge)

Thank you so much Leslie!

A while ago I participated in One World One Heart event and I was a lucky winner of Julie's give away! Here is the picture:

Thank you Julie, it is lovely!

Happy International Women's Day!

All the best to all women around the world! Today is the day to celebrate goddess in each and everyone of you. So today do not fight for women's rights (we should do it every day of the whole year) do not join screaming feminists, but take time to enjoy life and pamper yourself, and your mother, and your sister, and your girlfriend and every other woman. You and her are goddesses!

Today is a very special day for me. I do celebrate women's day alright but also today is a 20 anniversary of my coming to North America.

I remember, just like yesterday, flying across Atlantic Ocean

and landing in New York...

And that was just a beginning of my long journey... journey of discovery and learning... journey full of dreams that isn't over yet.

In celebration of my 20th anniversary and International Women's Day I decide to give away a $20 gift certificate to your favorite on line store. To be eligible for the draw please leave a comment and tell me what kind of a goddess are you today? How did you pamper yourself or another woman? Please make sure to include your email address if your blog doesn't link back. The entries must be posted by midnight (PST) March 15th and the draw will be March 16th.

And the stitching update:

I didn't stitch a lot since this week I'm writing 2 final exams, but I did some.

Heart of the Valley, and

progress on virtual stitching that I joined last Saturday.

Congratulations Debbie Jo, memory stick is yours and it will be shipped to you as soon as I confirm your mailing address.
Thank you all for reading and following my blog and taking part in the draw.

After the games

  • Congratulations to Canada for breaking the record of gold medals and finishing in the top three.
