PIF from Debbie Jo

I am so lucky! Last Friday I received another PIF (past it forward), this time from Debbie Jo. It is a gorgeous needle book. Thank you so much Debbie. I never made one yet, so it is my first needle book ever and I love it!

Now it is my turn to offer PIF. This is how it works:

If you would like to receive something made by me within the next 365 days, please comment on this post to say that you are interested. I will send a handmade gift to 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don't know what that gift will be yet (other than it will be a stitched gift) and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week... LOL... but you will receive it within 365 days, I promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog (or - in your life - if you happen to be blog-less). I will take 3 people...and if there are more than 3, then I will do a drawing. In return, you must offer to do the same :)

I will be taking sign ups until Friday, October 9th and winners will be announced October 11th. Thanks for signing up!

What's a PIF? It stands for Pass It Forward or Pay It Forward, meaning pass forward a bit of kindness to make the world a better place.

And, as I promised earlier, some pictures from my commute to and from work. In the past I was fighting the traffic in Bay Area, on 401 in Ontario, on highways in BC. Not any more! Now in the Yukon very often I'm the only car on the road...

Cats

Today is all about cats...

First, the WIP:

I was working on Frederick and I think that I will be able to finish this week the upper shelf...

And here is my ZoomZoom hiding in his favorite place, paper bag.

And this is very precious... Finally I found a cat who likes water more than ZoomZoom. My kitty is just fascinating by water, this one actually enjoys it!

10 book reading challenge

I just accepted 10 book reading challenge offered by Vickie and it looks like I will be busy reading:

1. Cascadia by Douglas Todd
2. Moo by Jane Smiley
3. The all-true travels and adventures of Lidie Newton by Jane Smiley
4. The Monk by Matthew Lewis (with intro by Stephen King)
5. Yesterday has much to tell by H. Spenser Lewis
6. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
7. West - Viking by Farley Mowat
8. Lost Christianities, the battles for scripture and faiths we never knew by Bart D. Ehrman
9. Mad trapper by Rudy Wiebe
10. The path to power by Margaret Thatcher

I'm not sure that I will read them in that order but I want to read them all.

PIF from Patty

Can you imagine my excitement when I opened a package and found this beautiful gift? Even Freddy, who is not a big fan of cross stitching, said WOW!

I absolutely love the little Eskimo sitting there and watching Aurora Borealis. Patty stitched those Northern Lights with sparkling metallic threads and they are so shiny and so beautiful.
If any of you have an idea how to take picture that shows that dazzling sparkle, please let me know. I would love to show this box in a full glory.

I've got the picture!

This morning in my inbox was a nice surprise: an email from PMO! So here is me and Prime Minister and I have no idea when, but senator Lang sneaked in into my picture.
